Description:
The University of Wyoming is located at the 7200 ft elevation in the City of Laramie, Wyoming. The campus
fulltime enrollment is 13,000 undergraduate and graduate students. This public-private partnership
provides 332 beds of housing replacing aging housing stock on 9 acres with eighty four new townhouse
and accessible flat apartments. The new community provides high quality housing for undergrads near
amenities including a community center, shopping and sports facilities within the existing student housing
neighborhoods. Semi private outdoor open space is established by clustering blocks of apartments
adjacent to pedestrian and bicycle paths which connect to the campus core and local community spaces.
With a density of 37 beds per acre (9.3 dua) the residential feel of the city of Laramie is embedded into the
campus in the 16 two and three story townhouse buildings. A main community building and maintenance
facility provide a core meeting place for students, faculty and staff. The overall development includes 133,853 gsf and will be complete for the 2013 school year. Parking is provided at .96 spaces per bed (321
total) on-site wrapping around the complex, creating buffers along the edges.
